Malacca Straits Mosque (Masjid Selat Melaka) is a mosque located on the man-made Malacca Island in Malacca, it about 5 KM from Jonker Walk Melaka. Malacca Straits Mosque was opened on 24 November 2006 by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Syed Putra Jamalullail. Masjid Selat Melaka was built using a mix of Middle Eastern and Malay craftsmanship. it looks like a floating structure when the water level is high. The main structure has two intersecting archways leading to the main entrance, and stained glass covers the space between the arches. Malacca Straits Mosque compound has a 30-metre tall minaret used as a lighthouse.
